Background & Context
Retail and multi-client inventory operators need more than a stock spreadsheet: products and suppliers, purchase orders and goods receipts, stock movements and adjustments, cashier POS with cash events, and role-aware access so cashiers cannot perform owner actions. Distributors of licensed software also need trial/license enforcement and master-admin visibility across client instances.
Tekvers built inventory-project (app root 110ct/, npm name user-management-system) as a full-stack retail operations platform: Express/TypeScript API on PostgreSQL via Prisma, React 18 + Vite + Zustand SPA, optional Electron shell, Docker Compose for Postgres 15 + Adminer. Auth uses JWT access/refresh with bcryptjs password hashing and six roles from guest through master admin. Domains include catalog, inventory movements/adjustments, PO/GRN, sales orders/invoices/payments, professional POS (sessions, returns, coupons, gift cards, store credit, loyalty, price books, barcode/PLU), OCR ingest, notifications/stock alerts, branding/themes, and licensing/trial/client billing analytics routes.
Master-analytics router exists but is commented out in server.ts—not claimed live. No Flutter mobile app exists in the repo. Package description historically emphasized user management; product scope in code is broader inventory + POS.
The Challenge
Teams responsible for stock control and retail selling were slowed by fragmented tools, weak RBAC, and limited leadership visibility—especially when the product also needed to be licensed and distributed to multiple client instances.

Bootstrap owner registration, role matrix, activate/deactivate users, and immutable-style audit listing give operators a trustworthy permission model before POS volume grows.
Inventory + professional POS depth
Products, categories, suppliers, stock movements (IN/OUT/ADJUSTMENT/TRANSFER/RETURN/DAMAGE), PO approve/receive, GRN statuses, and POS sessions/transactions cover the retail loop from receiving to cash drawer events.
Licensing and distribution plane
Trial registry, hardware fingerprints, license keys/activations, client instances, messaging, and billing analytics routes support multi-client distribution—web SPA or Electron desktop—without claiming disabled master-analytics mounts as live.
